CONDITIONS OF SALE:A full refund will be given for any puppy returned in good condition within the first three days of purchase if the Buyer determines the puppy is not suitable. Breeder reserves the right to have the puppy examined by her veterinarian before issuing a refund.
The puppy will have a full series of vaccinations as appropriate for the age of the puppy. In most cases, it will be the responsibility of the Buyer to vaccinate the puppy against rabies. Breeder will provide Buyer with a vaccination record at the time of purchase.
The puppy is to be free of all hereditary defects which would adversely affect the health and well being of the puppy for a period of up to five years from the date of sale. If Breeder's veterinarian determines that the puppy is suffering from a genetic disease rendering its quality of life unacceptable, a full replacement puppy will be given to Buyer as soon as one is available.
NOTE: Since the DNA tests to determine the existence or carrier status of the eye disease PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) and LOC (later onset cataracts) have not been finalized, Breeder cannot at this time guarantee that her animals are not carriers of these conditions. However, all of Breeder's dogs are examined yearly by a Board Certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist before breeding, and all efforts will be made to have all puppies checked for the presence of congenital cataracts, LOC and PRA before being released to their new owners.
LIMITED REGISTRATION:Breeder will withhold the American Kennel Club (AKC) registration form until the dog has been spayed or neutered and a certificate of said spay/neuter by a licensed veterinarian is presented to the Breeder; OR the registration form will be issued with a limited registration, which means the dog will not be used for breeding.
BUYER AGREES:A limited registration cannot guarantee a dog will not be bred without permission of the Breeder; however, no unauthorized puppies will be eligible for registration with the AKC.
A dog with a limited registration will not be eligible for AKC sanctioned conformation competition; however, it will be eligible for obedience, tracking and agility competition.
The purpose of limited registration is to keep the pet population under control. There are far too many animals being bred, either by accident or by individuals who have no knowledge of possible genetic defects which may be passed on by careless breeding practices. Anyone can put two dogs of the opposite sex together and produce puppies; most without giving a second thought to the possibilities of producing genetic problems or producing puppies that look nothing like the standard.
MICROCHIP FOR IDENTIFICATION:To have the puppy examined by Buyer's veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase so there will be no question that Buyer was presented with a healthy puppy.
To return the dog to the Breeder, after the initial three-day period, should the Buyer decide he/she cannot keep the dog. The Breeder will try to find a good home for the dog and give the Buyer any proceeds obtained from the resale.
To have the dog neutered or spayed before it reaches one year of age.
To use the kennel name of Sandypaws at the beginning of the registered name.
The dog will be an inside pet and will never be left outside to defend itself against the elements.
The dog will be fed a quality dog food, will be given the appropriate vaccinations, will be immediately administered a viable heartworm preventative, and will be kept as parasite and flea free as humanly possible.
DISPUTES:At the time of possession, Buyer will be issued evidence that the puppy as been injected with a microchip for positive identification. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to send this form to the American Kennel Club along with the appropriate fee for registration with the AKC Companion Animal Recovery Registry. The microchip has absolutely no benefit if the dog is not registered with the Animal Recovery Registry.
Although unlikely, should there be a dispute over the terms and conditions of this contract, and either party defaults on their agreement, all attorneys' fees incurred will be paid by the nonprevailing party.
